Additionally, 27,956 tourists entered via Bharatpur Metropolitan City, an increase from 23,257 in the fiscal year 2079/80.
Tourism expert Bishwo Subedi from Bharatpur Metropolitan City attributed the rise in tourist numbers to the national and international promotion of the Chitwan Visit Year. He highlighted that various religious events and festivals, such as the Devghatdham Festival, jungle safari marts, and marathons, were organized to attract religious tourists from abroad.
During the Visit Year, rescued Bengal tigers have been showcased in Devnagar for the general public. Additionally, Diyalo Bangla has been opened to the public, becoming a new attraction for tourists.
The increased influx of tourists to Chitwan National Park is a result of coordinated efforts to promote the area as a prime destination for both domestic and international travelers. The park’s unique wildlife, including the one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, and various species of birds, makes it a sought-after destination for wildlife enthusiasts.
The implementation of innovative strategies, such as showcasing rescued wildlife and opening new attractions, demonstrates the park’s commitment to enhancing the visitor experience. These initiatives, coupled with effective marketing campaigns, have contributed to the growing popularity of Chitwan National Park.
Chitwan National Park continues to grow as a premier destination for nature and wildlife tourism in Nepal. The increase in tourist arrivals underscores the success of promotional efforts and the park’s appeal to a diverse range of visitors. As the park expands its offerings and improves facilities, it is poised to attract even more tourists in the coming years.
