Malaysia Airlines is encouraging international travellers to explore more of the country as Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) gathers momentum and international tourism continues to support Malaysia’s efforts to strengthen its position as a leading destination in Southeast Asia. As Malaysia’s national flag carrier, the airline is using its international and domestic network to connect travellers with destinations across the country while showcasing Malaysian culture, cuisine and hospitality throughout the travel experience.

Convenient Connections to Malaysia

Travellers from the United Kingdom can reach Malaysia via twice-daily Malaysia Airlines flights from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur. From the capital, passengers can continue to a wide range of destinations offering beaches, heritage, nature, cuisine and cultural experiences.

Malaysia’s year-round tropical climate and diverse tourism attractions make it a destination for travel throughout the year. The country is also preparing for a busy international events calendar in 2026, including the return of Formula 1 to the Sepang International Circuit for the first time since 2017. The Malaysian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from October 2 to 4, 2026.

International transit passengers who meet the eligibility requirements can also use Malaysia Airlines’ Bonus Side Trip programme to add another Malaysian destination to their journey. Eligible travellers can add a destination at no additional airfare, with applicable taxes payable.

Malaysian Flavours and Hospitality in the Air

Malaysia Airlines is also introducing travellers to the country’s culinary identity before they even reach the ground. Its inflight dining programme features regional dishes through its Best of Asia selection, while the Best of Malaysia series highlights food traditions from different Malaysian states. Eligible Business Suite and Business Class passengers can select certain meals in advance through the airline’s Chef-on-Call service. The carrier also continues to serve its well-known satay, including a vegetarian option.

On selected flights, premium-cabin passengers can also sample a new Cendol Ice Cream, inspired by the popular Malaysian dessert and combining coconut ice cream with cendol jelly and other toppings. The airline says these offerings form part of its wider Malaysian Hospitality approach, which focuses on small details throughout the passenger journey. Eligible aircraft offer complimentary Wi-Fi, while generous baggage allowances and activity packs for younger passengers are among the additional services available to travellers.

Fares and Travel Options

Malaysia Airlines is currently offering return flights from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur, with Economy Class fares starting at £699 and Business Class fares from £3,199, subject to applicable terms and conditions. The airline is positioning its network and onboard services as part of Malaysia’s broader Visit Malaysia 2026 tourism campaign, encouraging international visitors to go beyond the capital and experience the country’s heritage, islands, food, nature and regional cultures.
