The Pokhara Hotel Association recently held a program to welcome the newly appointed Chief of the Baidam Ward Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Santosh Niraula.
During the event, DSP Niraula emphasized the importance of collaboration in maintaining peace, security, and a fear-free environment in the tourist areas. He assured that he would work diligently to ensure the safety and security of the public in his jurisdiction, and expressed his commitment to cooperating with the association to achieve this goal.
Laxman Subedi, the former President of the Association and the current President of the Hotel Association, expressed confidence that the arrival of the new police chief would enable business owners to operate with greater peace of mind. Similarly, the current President of the Association, Madhav Lamsal, noted that both the new police leadership and the association’s new leadership would work together to move forward with renewed vigor.
The event also saw remarks from former President Rajkumar Gurung, outgoing President Santu Chaudhary, Senior Vice President Jibaraj Upadhyay, and Secretary Shiva Prasad Adhikari, who all expressed their support for a strong partnership between the association and the police.
The Pokhara Hotel Association has donated books to the library established at the District Police Office in Kaski. The donation, which included 88 books, was handed over by Association President Madhav Lamsal to the District Police Chief, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohan Kumar Thapa.
Former President Santu Chaudhary and other officials and members of the association were also present during the handover. The library, recently established with contributions from various donors, now has over 3,000 books. SP Thapa also mentioned that books have been placed in the custody of the District Police Office in Kaski and the ward police offices in Rambazar, Baidam, Bagar, and the Area Police Office in Shisuwa.
The Pokhara Hotel Association has announced plans to organize a blood donation program this year as well. The event is scheduled to take place on Bhadra 5 at Lakeside, according to Association President Madhav Lamsal. Last year, the association collected 112 units of blood during a similar event.
