Monsoon Impact Brings Rainfall Across Nepal; Heavy Rainfall Expected in Several Provinces

The ongoing monsoon season continues to affect various parts of Nepal, bringing rainfall to several regions. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light to moderate rainfall is currently being observed in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in one or two locations in other provinces.

This afternoon, the weather forecast indicates a likelihood of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with a few locations in other provinces also likely to experience similar conditions. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in one or two areas within the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces.

The department further noted that the weather across the country will remain generally cloudy tonight, with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall, thunder, and lightning in some parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Heavy rainfall is also likely in one or two locations within Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Given the risk of heavy rainfall, the department has issued a warning for potential natural disasters, including landslides, floods, and soil erosion, particularly in the affected regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces. The department has urged the public to exercise caution and take necessary precautions to mitigate the impact on daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transportation in these areas.
