Aiming to promote tourism on an international level, the two-day Nepal International Tourism Fair concluded successfully on Saturday.
The fair, organized by Summit Events Markets with support from the Nepal Tourism Board and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, began on Friday. In her closing remarks, the Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu, Sunita Dangol, emphasized the importance of continuing such events for the promotion of Nepal’s tourism industry. She affirmed the Metropolitan City’s ongoing commitment to supporting the promotion of heritage sites and tourist areas within Kathmandu. Deputy Mayor Dangol also urged participants to spread awareness about Nepal’s tourist attractions in their respective countries.
Ram Prasad Sapkota, Vice President of the Nepal Tourism Board, highlighted the fair’s significant role in boosting Nepal’s tourism in the international market. He praised the commendable efforts of the private sector in organizing the event.
The fair saw participation from the Malaysia Tourism Board and the Bihar Tourism Board of India, along with 150 tourism business stalls from 16 different countries. Bishnu Pandey, Managing Director of Summit Events Markets, informed that over 5,000 people attended the fair over its two-day run.
The event included group discussions related to tourism. Following the successful completion of the fair, the organizers announced that the second edition of the fair is scheduled for May 30 and 31 of the coming year.
