The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has announced a reduction in fuel surcharges for domestic flights, which will take effect from Tuesday. This decision comes in response to the recent decrease in aviation fuel prices by the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), which lowered the price by Rs 5 per liter.
The reduction in fuel surcharges varies depending on the flight destination, with a range of Rs 20 to Rs 265. The most significant reduction, Rs 265, applies to flights bound for Biratnagar and Nepalgunj, while the smallest reduction of Rs 20 affects flights to Lukla and Phaplu.
As a result of these adjustments, the fuel surcharge for flights to easily accessible destinations has been set at Rs 4,212.82 per passenger per hour. For flights to more remote destinations, the surcharge is now Rs 50.16 per passenger per minute. This move is expected to provide some financial relief to passengers traveling within Nepal.
