The fuel surcharge on air travel has been reduced according to flight destinations following a price cut on aviation fuel by the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC). NOC recently lowered the price of aviation fuel by NPR 5 per liter, prompting the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to adjust the fuel surcharge accordingly.
CAAN implemented the reduced fuel surcharge from last Tuesday, with reductions varying by destination. The Lukla and Phaplu routes saw the smallest decrease of NPR 20, while the Biratnagar-Nepalgunj route experienced the largest reduction, with NPR 265 slashed from the surcharge.
As a result of these changes, airline companies are expected to offer more affordable airfares, benefiting passengers traveling across Nepal.
