Dipak Raj Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board, emphasized the need for various measures to enhance tourism promotion in Nepal during the Hotelier Summit 2024 organized by Capital Nepal on Friday.
Joshi highlighted that infrastructure limitations are a significant factor restricting many chain hotels to Kathmandu. He pointed out that improving access to destinations is crucial, suggesting the need for direct flights, new airport policies, and effective management of Nepal Airlines.
“To boost tourism, we must prioritize several aspects, including enhancing accessibility to destinations through direct flights, developing new airports, promoting Nepal Airlines, addressing issues faced by tourists entering through various border points, and bringing in diverse campaigns and global promotions,” Joshi stated.
He also noted that the current infrastructure is inadequate for connecting areas with high tourism potential. “There is a lack of good infrastructure in places with high tourism potential, which is essential for effective tourism promotion. Isolated efforts will not suffice for tourism development,” Joshi added.
Joshi’s remarks underscore the necessity for a unified approach involving all stakeholders to address these challenges and leverage Nepal’s tourism potential fully.
