The 8th edition of the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) has officially commenced, showcasing an impressive lineup of over 400 nominations. This year’s Gala and Awards ceremony will take place at two prominent venues: The Malla Hotel and Aloft Kathmandu Thamel, with the main Gala event scheduled for tonight at Aloft Kathmandu.
Welcoming over 200 delegates from the South Asian travel fraternity, SATA celebrates exceptional contributions within the hospitality sector across the region. This year marks another successful edition of the awards, which have become a hallmark of excellence in South Asia’s tourism and hospitality industries.
A key feature of SATA is its commitment to transparency and integrity; there are no fees for nominations. Each nominee is evaluated by a multinational jury, which travels to more than eight cities across South Asia to ensure a comprehensive assessment of the region’s hospitality offerings.
SATA 2024 is being held in Kathmandu with the support of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the Hotel Association Nepal. The event is further enhanced by the participation of esteemed partners: Gulfcraft as the Platinum Partner, alongside Gold Partners Hotels & Resorts Investments Maldives (HARIM), Velana International Airport, and The Hawks. Bizspoke and Resort Life Travel are recognized as Silver Partners, while Allied Insurance serves as the Insurance Partner for this edition.
Since its inception in 2016, the SATA Awards have been hosted in various notable locations, including Mount Lavinia, Galle, Male’ Atoll, Addu City, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, making Kathmandu the latest city to celebrate the region’s hospitality excellence.
