94 Israeli Trekkers, Including 34 People with Disabilities, Complete Inspirational Annapurna Trek

A group of 94 Israeli trekkers, including 34 people with disabilities (PWDs), completed a remarkable trek around Mt. Annapurna, showcasing determination and teamwork. The group, which included 12 wheelchair-assisted trekkers and 22 physically challenged explorers, embarked on their journey on September 18 and concluded it triumphantly on September 26.

The trek began after the team flew into Humde local airport, starting their expedition from there. Along the way, they spent two nights in Manang to acclimatize and immerse themselves in the local culture and cuisine. Despite the physical challenges, the group successfully crossed the Thorung La Pass, standing at an elevation of 5,416 meters, one of the highest trekking passes in the world.

Upon their return, the trekkers were welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Hanan Goder, and Laxman Gautam from the Nepal Tourism Board.

In a statement, the Israeli Embassy in Kathmandu emphasized the group’s mission to inspire and raise awareness about the capabilities of people with disabilities. Their journey highlights the power of inclusiveness, determination, and the incredible potential of teamwork, demonstrating that when people come together, remarkable achievements are possible.
