A passenger on a Buddha Air flight attempted to open the emergency exit door mid-flight on Thursday morning. The incident occurred on flight number 505, which had taken off from Kathmandu at 5:30 AM, bound for Janakpur.
Due to low visibility, the aircraft was unable to land at Janakpur Airport as planned. Buddha Air’s spokesperson, Dipendra Kumar Karn, explained that the flight was then diverted to Biratnagar Airport for a safe landing.
Shortly after the aircraft landed in Biratnagar, the passenger attempted to open the emergency door. Karn informed that emergency exits are strictly reserved for use only during emergencies, and the individual’s actions were unauthorized. The passenger was subsequently handed over to the police following the incident.
