The 3rd International Cross-Country competition in Pokhara concluded with the 5-kilometer student race (both male and female categories) witnessing thrilling performances. In the men’s category, Badal Karki emerged as the winner, while Narayani Bhandari claimed first place in the women’s category.
In the men’s race, Krishna Pariyar secured second place, followed by Ramesh Budha in third. For the women, the second place went to Swikriti Karki, and Juhi Rai finished in third.
The race started from the Barahi Ghat on the shores of Fewa Lake, passing through Gaurighat, Shahidchok, and the Nepal Rastra Bank area, before looping back through the Dam site to complete the 5-kilometer distance.
The top six male and female athletes received cash prizes, medals, and certificates. The first-place winners in both categories were awarded NPR 30,000, second place received NPR 25,000, and third place received NPR 20,000. Athletes finishing fourth to sixth place were awarded NPR 10,000 each.
More than 500 students participated in the race, marking the event as a significant gathering for the youth in the region.
