The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that local winds influence the weather across Nepal’s western and hilly regions. Forecasts indicate that the hilly areas of Gandaki and Koshi provinces will experience partly cloudy skies, while fair weather will prevail in the rest of the country. Light fog has been observed in some parts of the Terai, adding a gentle haze over the southern plains.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, cloudy conditions will persist throughout the day in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. A brief period of light rain may occur at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces. By tonight, the cloud cover will extend over the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Additionally, light rainfall is likely in a few places within the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, accompanied by light snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous areas over the next 24 hours.
The Department has advised residents, travelers, and stakeholders in agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and transportation sectors to stay alert due to potential weather impacts. Changes in conditions could affect road and air transport, as well as other outdoor activities across affected regions.
