NEPSE Index Gains 19.97 Points Amid Volatile Trading, Hotel and Tourism Index Surges

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed an increase of 19.97 points (0.72%) today, closing at 2,758.04. This rise follows a decline of 9.99 points in the previous trading session, marking a rebound in investor sentiment.

The market opened at 2,749.27 and exhibited significant fluctuations throughout the day. The NEPSE index reached an intraday low of 2,746.47 and climbed to a high of 2,773.47 before settling at its closing figure.

A standout performer in today’s market was the Hotel and Tourism Index, which surged by an impressive 348.04 points (5.03%) to close at 7,265.32. This marks a significant jump from the previous session, where the index had recorded a modest gain of 20.73 points.

Opening at 6,873.97, the Hotel and Tourism Index also demonstrated notable volatility. It dipped to an intraday low of 6,893.97 but rebounded strongly, hitting an intraday high of 7,394.92 before settling at its final value.

Today’s performance underscores a positive shift in the market, with the tourism sector leading the charge, signaling increased investor confidence in the potential of Nepal’s burgeoning hospitality and tourism industries.
