A cargo aircraft operated by Amazon Air crashed after veering off the runway at Miami International Airport in the United States on Sunday, killing five people and injuring five others.
The Amazon Air cargo plane, a Boeing 767-300, reportedly crashed shortly after landing at around 2 p.m. local time. The aircraft left the runway at an estimated speed of around 209 kilometers per hour before striking several vehicles.
Cargo Aircraft Catches Fire After Collision
The impact caused the aircraft to catch fire, prompting an immediate emergency response at the airport. Around 200 firefighters were deployed to the scene following the initial report of the crash.
Five Injured, Emergency Response Underway
Authorities said five people were injured in the incident. Three of the injured were transported to a local trauma center, while two others were taken to hospitals for treatment. Officials are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the runway excursion and determine the exact cause of the crash.
