Celebrating Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta’s 211th Birth Anniversary: Poetry Competition Promotes Culture and Tourism in Bardibas

In honor of the 211th birth anniversary of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, a renowned literary figure in Nepal, Bardibas Help Foundation, with the support of Bardibas Municipality, organized the third municipal-level inter-school poetry competition. The event saw 13 students awarded for their exceptional contributions to poetry, highlighting the cultural richness and tourism potential of the region.

The competition, held on Saturday, focused on poems inspired by the life, motivation, and literary contributions of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya. Pramila Shrestha, Pratigya Baral, and Amisha Majhi were awarded the first, second, and third prizes, respectively. They received cash prizes of NPR 15,000, NPR 10,000, and NPR 7,000, along with certificates of appreciation. Additionally, ten other participants were awarded NPR 1,000 each and certificates of appreciation.

The selection of the best compositions was done by a panel of judges comprising literary scholars Prallas Sindhuliya, Madhav Kafle, and Mukunda Paudel.

Bardibas Mayor Prahlad Kumar Chhetri emphasized the municipality’s commitment to continuously support social organizations in organizing such events to honor national figures. He noted that such initiatives not only preserve and promote Nepali culture but also enhance the tourism appeal of Bardibas, attracting visitors interested in the rich literary heritage of Nepal.

These cultural activities, celebrating the legacy of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, play a significant role in promoting the cultural and tourism sectors of Bardibas, offering a unique blend of educational and touristic experiences for both locals and visitors.
