Dawa Yangzum Sherpa has made a groundbreaking achievement in the world of mountaineering, becoming the first Nepali woman to summit all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters. On October 9, 2024, at the age of 33, Dawa successfully reached the summit of Shishapangma in Tibet, completing this remarkable journey.
Her climbing career began in 2009, and over the years, she has conquered some of the most challenging peaks in the world, including Mount Everest in 2012, Makalu in 2019, and Manaslu in 2021.
Dawa’s achievements go beyond her impressive climbing feats. In 2017, she broke gender barriers by becoming Nepal’s first female international mountain guide, a milestone that earned her recognition from the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association.
