Government Takes Bold Steps to Enhance Nepal’s Tourism Recognition Worldwide

Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, stated that the government is making serious and continuous efforts to expand Nepal’s recognition in the international tourism market. Speaking at a special interaction with tourism journalists organized by the Nepal Tourism Board on Monday in the capital, Minister Pandey highlighted that the media sector will be valued as a key partner in promoting tourism, and cooperation will be strengthened for long-term development.

“The government is implementing strategic plans and policies in collaboration with stakeholders to establish Nepal as a distinctive and competitive tourist destination,” Minister Pandey said. He acknowledged the significant contribution of journalists to it’s tourism development.

During the event, Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board, provided information on the current state of it’s tourism sector, market trends, priority areas, and upcoming promotional plans. He emphasized improving service standards, strengthening destination management, and diversifying tourism products. The Board’s Acting Director, Sunil Sharma, expressed gratitude for the media’s support in promoting tourism and emphasized the need for open dialogue and cooperation between the tourism sector and journalists. The event saw the participation of over 50 journalists.
