Veteran American guide Benjamin “Ben” Jones successfully climbed Mount Everest for the 11th time on Monday as part of the Shangri-La Nepal Treks Everest Expedition 2026. A renowned expedition guide from Alpine Ascents International, along with fellow climbers, successfully scaled Mount Everest on Monday morning, according to expedition organiser Shangri-La Nepal Treks.
Jiban Ghimire, Managing Director of Shangri-La Nepal Treks (SNT), said that the team was led by veteran American mountaineer Benjamin Jones, popularly known as Ben Jones. The climber reached the summit of the world’s highest mountain for the 11th time as part of the SNT Everest Expedition 2026.
Clear Weather Window Supports Successful Summit Push
According to Ghimire, Ben Jones and Dawa Gelje Sherpa stood atop Everest at around 5:00 am after taking advantage of a favorable weather window. The team has since begun descending safely toward lower camps.
The successful ascent adds to another recent Everest achievement by the SNT expedition team earlier this season. On May 21, climbers Leonardo Avezzano, Lhakpa Chhiri Sherpa, and Cho Lakpa Sherpa also reached the summit of Everest at 10:48 am.
Everest Season Continues with Strong International Participation
The 2026 spring climbing season on Everest continues to witness strong participation from international expedition teams, with favorable weather conditions in recent days allowing climbers to make summit attempts from the south side of the mountain in Nepal.
