For the first time this year, snow has fallen in Dhorpatan. After a prolonged drought, it started snowing along with rain on Sunday evening. Due to the snowfall, the cold has intensified in the area. Farmers are delighted with the hope that their crops will flourish after the snowfall.

Binod B.K., a ranger at the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, informed that the snowfall had turned Dhorpatan Valley and its surrounding areas white. However, the snowfall has also made life difficult for the residents. Although the weather had been deteriorating since last Friday, snowfall accompanied by rain occurred only on Sunday evening, according to BK.

Prem Bahadur Gharti Magar, a resident of Dhorpatan Municipality-9, stated that the snowfall has made it difficult to provide fodder for horses, mules, and livestock. Despite some rainfall last month, there was no snowfall. Gharti believes that the recent snowfall with rain will be beneficial for crops.
He said, “There was a long drought, and the crops in the fields had started drying up. Though late, at least it rained.”
