Dharche Manaslu Committee Marks Historic Trek Success

The Dharche Manaslu Tourism Development Committee has successfully organized a historic unification trek and tourism trail from Gorkha Durbar to Hanuman Dhoka in Kathmandu. This trek, conducted from January 28 to February 4, completed a historical journey across various municipalities in three districts.

This event not only highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the regions it traversed but also provided an opportunity to explore scenic landscapes, fostering a deeper connection between the local communities. The trek was designed to promote tourism and enhance the cultural significance of the route, bringing attention to the landmarks and historical sites along the way. Participants had the chance to experience the beauty and history of the regions while contributing to the promotion of local tourism.

The initiative showcased the potential of developing tourism trails that bridge historic locations, offering visitors a unique way to explore the cultural and natural wonders of Nepal. Through this successful event, the Tourism Development Committee has set a precedent for future tourism projects, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural heritage while promoting sustainable tourism in the country. The trek served as both a celebration of Nepal’s history and an effort to increase tourism and economic growth in the participating areas in Dharche.

According to the committee’s chair, Sane Gurung, “This trek is an important effort to assess the real impact of the 2015 earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism sector. It will also significantly contribute to the preservation and promotion of our natural and cultural heritage.”

Throughout the trek, the team explored numerous tourist attractions across the municipalities of Gorkha, Dhading, and Nuwakot. They also assessed local security conditions and meticulously recorded the distances along the route. By compiling these findings, they aim to create a detailed report that will serve as a valuable resource for future tourism development initiatives.

Gurung emphasized that the insights gained from this journey would play a pivotal role in shaping tourism strategies for the region. The collected data will help identify key areas for improvement, enhance safety measures, and promote the sustainable growth of the trekking route of Dharche. Additionally, the team’s observations will assist in highlighting lesser-known destinations, encouraging more visitors to explore these culturally and naturally rich areas like Dharche.

This initiative not only documents the current state of tourism infrastructure but also sets a foundation for future planning. By understanding the challenges and opportunities along the trail, stakeholders can develop policies that support local communities, improve accessibility, and enhance the overall trekking experience. The findings from this trek will contribute significantly to positioning the region as a prominent trekking destination, attracting both domestic and international adventurers in the coming years.

The committee intends to submit its report to the concerned authorities, outlining key findings and recommendations. Based on the insights gathered, strategic initiatives will be developed to enhance tourism infrastructure. These programs will focus on improving accessibility, facilities, and promotional activities to attract more visitors. In the coming days, efforts will be directed toward implementing necessary upgrades, ensuring sustainable tourism growth.

The committee aims to collaborate with government agencies, local stakeholders, and tourism experts to design effective plans that align with regional development goals. By leveraging the report’s findings, authorities will be better equipped to prioritize investments in essential infrastructure, including transportation networks, hospitality services, and cultural preservation. Additionally, marketing strategies will be formulated to highlight the area’s tourism potential, drawing both domestic and international travelers.

The committee envisions a comprehensive approach, integrating community involvement to create long-term benefits for the local economy. Emphasis will also be placed on eco-friendly and responsible tourism practices to preserve natural and cultural heritage. Through these targeted initiatives, the region is expected to experience significant improvements in its tourism sector, ultimately fostering economic opportunities and sustainable development.
