India-Nepal Tourism Meet Strengthens Bilateral Ties

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, successfully organized the 1st India-Nepal Tourism Meet on December 10, 2025. The event aimed to harness the vast potential of tourism between the two neighboring countries, encourage collaborations, and promote cultural exchange to strengthen their tourism sectors.

A 13-member Indian delegation, coordinated by the Uttar Pradesh State Government Tourism, attended the meet. The delegation included 8 tour operators, 3 influencers, and 2 government officials, emphasizing a diverse representation of the Indian tourism industry.

Familiarization Tour to Key Nepali Destinations

Prior to the main event, NTB organized a familiarization trip for the Indian delegation from December 7 to 9, 2025. During this trip, the team explored various cultural and historical sites in Kathmandu and Janakpur and enjoyed a scenic cable car ride at Chandragiri. The initiative aimed to provide firsthand experience of Nepal’s tourism offerings and strengthen mutual understanding.

B2B Meetings and Industry Collaboration

The highlight of the event was a series of B2B meetings between Indian and Nepalese tour operators. Around 120 tour operators from Nepal, specializing in the Indian market, participated in the event to establish connections and discuss potential partnerships.

Prominent Attendees and Key Discussions

The program was chaired by Hon’ble Arun Kumar Chaudhary, State Minister, Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, and was attended by Prasanna Shrivastav, CDA-Embassy of India, and the CEO of NTB, along with a large number of travel trade participants.

During the discussions, the speakers emphasized the significance of the Indian tourism market for Nepal and highlighted the need for collaborative efforts in marketing, promotions, and cultural exchanges. The meet underscored the shared commitment to enhancing tourism and fostering strong ties between the two nations.

A Step Towards Strengthened Tourism Ties

The 1st India-Nepal Tourism Meet marks a significant milestone in the bilateral tourism partnership, paving the way for increased cooperation, joint promotions, and cultural enrichment between India and Nepal.
