Kanchenjunga Park Center To Be Established In Taplejung To Promote Tourism And Conservation

A “Kanchenjunga Park Center” is set to be built in Tapethok, Phaktanglung Rural Municipality-5 of Taplejung, considered the gateway to the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area.

The park, which aims to promote tourism, was officially inaugurated on Friday in a special ceremony by Graham Wrigley, Chair of the Himalayan Trust UK, and Ghanshyam Gurung, Country Representative of WWF Nepal.

According to Khagendra Phembu, Chairperson of the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Management Council, the park center will include a modern tourist information center, a training center, a conference hall, and an office for recording visitor information.

He added that the new infrastructure will enhance the effective management of the conservation area and provide necessary services and information to both domestic and international tourists. He also mentioned that cooperation with various government and non-government organizations is underway to manage the funding for the project.
