Koshi Province Launches Secretariat for Tourism Year 2082

The Koshi Provincial Government has officially established a Tourism Year 2082 Secretariat under the Ministry of Tourism, Forest, and Environment. The initiative was inaugurated by Tourism, Forest, and Environment Minister Sadananda Mandal, who emphasized the significant role of the tourism sector in national capital formation.

During the ceremony, Minister Mandal highlighted the vast potential of Koshi Province as a tourism hub, citing its religious, geographical, and natural attractions. He stressed the importance of utilizing these resources effectively and introduced plans to streamline tourist experiences. “We will implement a system of stickers on tourist vehicles at entry points, reducing the need for frequent police checks along the routes,” he said.

The Minister further underscored the vital role of the private sector in ensuring the success of Tourism Year 2082. He shared that private entities have been included in various committees to foster collaboration and enhance the initiative’s outreach.

Ministry Secretary Bishal Ghimire reiterated the region’s immense potential for tourism, emphasizing the collective effort required to make Tourism Year 2082 a success. Meanwhile, the co-coordinators of the Tourism Year 2082 Directive Committee, Bhavishya Shrestha and Krishna Kumar Sah, pledged their full commitment to working tirelessly to achieve the objectives of the program.

The Tourism Year 2082 initiative marks a significant step towards positioning Koshi Province as a premier travel destination, with the government’s proactive approach and private sector involvement paving the way for sustainable tourism growth.
