In preparation for the Sitaram Bibaha Panchami festival, the District Administration Office of Dhanusha has imposed a ban on the supply of meat, fish, and alcohol in Janakpurdham. The prohibition began at midnight today and will remain in effect until the midnight of December 7.
The annual week-long Bibaha Panchami festival, which celebrates the legendary union of Princess Sita and Lord Ram in the Treta Yug, is marked with religious fervor and grand celebrations in Janakpur. As the festival draws to a close on December 7, authorities have taken this step to maintain the sanctity and atmosphere of the event.
Additionally, the Madhesh Province government has declared a public holiday for December 8, in observance of the Gadhimai festival, which is held every five years at the Gadhimai Temple in Bara.
