Minister Pandey Emphasizes Inspiring Current Generation with Sacrificial Politics of Subarna Shamsher

Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey has highlighted the importance of inspiring the current generation with the values of sacrifice and dedication embodied by Subarna Shamsher Rana. Speaking at the 47th Memorial Day event organized by the Suvarna Smriti Parishad, Minister Pandey underscored the selflessness and dedication of the founding leaders, urging today’s leaders to draw lessons from their legacy.

Addressing the event, which also honored democracy fighters, Minister Pandey noted, “We did not see them fighting over positions; instead, they demonstrated mutual respect. We must pass down this history to the younger generation, as it enhances our dignity and should inspire the current generation toward a politics of sacrifice.”

He further stressed the need to avoid negative attitudes and unfounded criticism of leaders, acknowledging their achievements and dedication rather than focusing solely on past mistakes.

Minister Pandey also affirmed the continuity of the current political coalition until 2084 BS (2027 AD) and encouraged ministers to win public trust through service.

During the program, he presented the Suvarna Smriti Award to three democracy fighters: Mahesh Kumar Kormocha from Okhaldhunga, Sunda Devi Joshi from Chitwan, and Ram Narayan Dev from Saptari, recognizing their contributions to Nepal’s democratic journey.
