Nepal Airlines’ Wide-Body Aircraft Resumes Service After Maintenance in Italy

Nepal Airlines Corporation’s (NAC) A330 wide-body aircraft, Nine-YLZ (Makalu), returned to Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, on Monday after completing its scheduled C-check maintenance.

The maintenance was conducted by an EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration)-certified Maintenance and Overhaul Organization in Naples, Italy. The aircraft underwent a comprehensive inspection and maintenance in compliance with international standards and was issued a service release certificate, NAC spokesperson Ramesh Paudel confirmed.

Adherence to Safety and Compliance

Despite Nepal being on the European Union’s aviation safety list, NAC’s wide-body fleet has successfully undergone maintenance in a European country, showcasing the airline’s commitment to maintaining international safety and compliance standards.

“The completion of maintenance for both wide-body aircraft in Italy ensures the reliability and safety of our fleet,” stated Paudel.

Enhanced Services for International Routes

With the return of the Makalu aircraft, NAC’s four aircraft, including two wide-body and two narrow-body planes, are expected to enhance the airline’s capacity for international operations. This development is anticipated to provide improved services to passengers on various routes.

Nepal Airlines Corporation continues to focus on ensuring the safety and efficiency of its fleet to deliver quality service on international sectors.
