Powerful Partnership! Nepal and Thailand Strengthen Ties with Landmark MoU

Nepal Chamber of Commerce and the Tourism Council of Thailand have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in trade, tourism, and civil aviation. The agreement was signed in Bangkok in the presence of Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

Nepal Chamber President Kamalesh Kumar Agrawal and Thai Tourism Council President Chai Arunanondchai formalized the partnership, emphasizing mutual benefits in tourism promotion, investment, and cultural exchange.

As part of the agreement, a joint task force will be established to implement strategic initiatives, including tourism market promotion campaigns and collaboration in aviation infrastructure. Special focus will be placed on enhancing international operations at Nepal’s Pokhara and Bhairahawa airports to attract more visitors from Thailand and beyond.

The MoU also aims to foster deeper engagement between the private sectors of both nations. Prominent Nepali business leaders accompanied Prime Minister Oli’s delegation, highlighting the commitment to expanding bilateral trade and investment opportunities. This agreement is expected to enhance Nepal’s visibility in the Thai market while encouraging Thai investment in Nepal’s growing tourism and aviation sectors.
