The Consulate General of Nepal in Guangzhou, in coordination with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), organized a Nepal tourism promotion and B2B networking programme in Shenzhen, China, on May 20 under the theme “Nepal: A Lifetime Experience.” The event, held at The Ritz-Carlton Shenzhen, brought together around 80 participants representing media, travel trade, business sectors and the Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) community.

Nepal–China Tourism Cooperation Highlighted
Addressing the programme, Bharat Khanal highlighted the long-standing diplomatic relations between Nepal and China, emphasizing shared cultural values and expanding opportunities for tourism cooperation between the two countries.
He noted that Nepal continues to position itself as a unique destination for nature, culture, adventure and spiritual tourism while encouraging greater people-to-people exchanges between Nepal and Chinese cities such as Shenzhen.

Similarly, Wang Tao, who also serves as Executive President of the Shenzhen Travel Agency Industry Association, expressed commitment to strengthening tourism collaboration and expanding travel partnerships between Nepal and Shenzhen.

Nepal Showcases Wellness Tourism Potential
During the programme, Bimal Kadel delivered a detailed presentation showcasing Nepal’s diverse tourism experiences, including adventure, cultural, spiritual and wellness tourism products.
The presentation particularly focused on Nepal’s growing wellness tourism sector, highlighting opportunities related to yoga, meditation and holistic travel experiences rooted in the Himalayan environment and Buddhist-Hindu spiritual traditions.

Officials also shared information about the Government of Nepal’s declaration of “Nepal Wellness Year 2027,” aimed at promoting Nepal as a global wellness destination. The programme further highlighted Nepal’s observance of Wellness Day on April 15, which has been recognized by the United Nations as part of global efforts to promote health, mindfulness and well-being.

B2B Networking Aims to Boost Chinese Tourist Arrivals
The event also featured business-to-business networking interactions between Nepali and Chinese tourism stakeholders, with discussions focused on enhancing tourism promotion, travel partnerships and market connectivity. Organizers said the initiative was aimed at strengthening Nepal’s tourism presence in the Chinese market and attracting more visitors from China through coordinated promotion and industry collaboration.
