Nepal & Oman Strengthen Tourism Ties with New Agreement

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation and exchange in the tourism sector has been signed between the governments of Nepal and Oman. Government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, stated that the Cabinet meeting on Falgun 6 approved the MoU.

The meeting also endorsed an agreement between Nepal and the United States addressing the transportation and import restrictions on archaeological and cultural artifacts. This agreement is aimed at ensuring the protection and proper handling of cultural heritage during international exchanges, further strengthening the collaborative efforts in preserving Nepal’s rich archaeological and cultural assets. The approval reflects a commitment to safeguarding these valuable treasures while facilitating smoother exchanges across borders.

The Minister’s participation is seen as an essential move to enhance Nepal’s visibility in the international tourism sector, forging new partnerships and showcasing the country’s unique offerings to a wider audience. Additionally, the Cabinet approved the visit of Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, to participate in the International Tourism Exchange (ITB Berlin 2025) in Germany and the 75th Annapurna Day in France, scheduled from Falgun 20 to 24.
