The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has taken active steps to promote Nepal as a premier destination in the global tourism market. By participating in prominent international travel fairs, the board aims to showcase Nepal’s unique attractions and establish it as a leading hub for adventure and cultural tourism.
In January, NTB actively engaged in renowned international fairs such as the Adventure Travel Show in London, Vakantiebeurs in the Netherlands, CMT in Germany, FITUR in Spain, OTM in India, and Matka in Finland. These events have provided a valuable platform to highlight Nepal’s diverse offerings, including adventure travel, cultural heritage, and sustainable tourism.
Executive Chief of NTB, Deepak Raj Joshi, stated that the enthusiastic participation of Nepali tourism companies in these fairs played a crucial role in promoting the country’s tourism potential. At the Adventure Travel Show in London, seven Nepali travel companies collaborated with NTB to position Nepal as a leading destination for adventure and cultural experiences. Similarly, eight companies represented Nepal at Matka in Finland, while seven companies showcased their services at CMT in Germany. FITUR in Spain and OTM in India saw the participation of 27 and 28 companies, respectively, with OTM scheduled for January 30-31 in Mumbai.
These fairs have helped strengthen collaborations between NTB and private sector companies, enhancing global outreach, building connections with travel agencies, and paving the way for mutual development. Visitors to the Nepal stalls interacted with representatives and gained insights into Nepal’s rich religious, natural, and cultural heritage.
Joshi emphasized that Nepal is more than just a destination; it offers a soulful experience. “Our participation in these international travel fairs underscores our commitment to establishing Nepal as a must-visit destination. Through collaboration with tourism service providers, we aim to enhance promotion efforts and contribute to the economic growth of the country,” he said.
NTB’s efforts in international tourism promotion reflect its dedication to sustainable and inclusive growth in the sector, welcoming continued cooperation and partnerships to strengthen Nepal’s presence in the global tourism market.
