Nepal Tourism Board and TBAN Distribute Reflective Jackets to Tourist Vehicle Drivers

Today, drivers and co-drivers of tourist vehicles receive luminous jackets as part of a substantial initiative to improve safety and professionalism. Leading this endeavor was the Tourist Bus Association of Nepal (TBAN) in partnership with the Nepal Tourism Board. The uniforms, which were distributed to more than a hundred drivers and co-drivers, were intended to improve the level of service provided to both domestic and foreign visitors.

Hikmat Singh Air, Senior Director of the Nepal Tourism Board, underscored the pivotal role of drivers and co-drivers in delivering exceptional service across Nepal’s diverse tourist destinations. He emphasized the importance of ensuring tourist vehicles are well-equipped to travel from the eastern to the western regions of the country. Air also announced ongoing efforts by the Nepal Tourism Board to establish a dedicated bus park for tourist vehicles in Kathmandu, further improving infrastructure for the tourism sector.

Krishna Acharya, President of TBAN, highlighted the significance of organized, safe, and dignified operations in the tourist bus sector. He stressed that tourist buses are essential for the growth of the tourism industry, a key pillar of Nepal’s economy. TBAN advisor Kedar Nath Sharma added that drivers and co-drivers serve as ambassadors, promoting Nepal’s rich tourist destinations.

For the past four decades, TBAN has been a cornerstone in providing bus services to tourists. TBAN Vice President Bhisma Neupane shared that their services currently connect Kathmandu with major tourist hotspots such as Pokhara, Sauraha, Lumbini, and Janakpur.
