Nepali Community in Thailand Celebrates Bhanu Jayanti with Cultural Program

A cultural program was organized in Bangkok to celebrate Bhanu Jayanti, with the participation of Nepalis living in Thailand and organizations representing Nepali-speaking people. The event, held today, highlighted the importance of protecting and promoting the Nepali language and culture.

Nepali Ambassador to Thailand, Dhan Bahadur Oli, emphasized the significant role of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, a pioneering poet, in the development of the Nepali language. He praised the collaborative efforts of Nepalis and Nepali-speaking organizations in hosting this special event focused on language and literature, expressing the Embassy’s commitment to supporting such initiatives.

The program saw the presence of prominent figures including Bhabindra Basnet, President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association in Thailand, and Laxman KC, President of the Thai Nepali Association, along with representatives from various organizations and young literary enthusiasts.

As part of the celebration, a book related to the Nepali language was distributed, underscoring the community’s dedication to preserving their linguistic heritage. The sizeable population of Nepali-speaking people in Thailand actively participated, making the event a significant cultural gathering.
