Nepali Congress Demands Bold Support for Hotel Sector – New Hotel Launched

Senior leaders of the Nepali Congress, including General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, have underscored the vital role of hotel entrepreneurs in promoting both domestic and international tourism in Nepal.

Speaking at a New Year 2082 goodwill exchange program organized by the Nepal Democratic Hotel Entrepreneurs Association, Thapa stressed that small and medium-sized hotels are key drivers of tourism growth. He urged the government to address the challenges faced by the hotel sector, which was severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, in the upcoming fiscal budget.

Unity for Democracy and Economic Growth

Congress central member and former minister Sita Gurung highlighted the association’s dual role in advancing both business and democratic values. She emphasized that only a united front among democratic hoteliers can safeguard Nepal’s democracy.

Abdul Sattar, coordinator of the Congress’s goodwill organization coordination department, called for the timely convention of the Nepal Democratic Hotel Entrepreneurs Association, reaffirming the party’s commitment to resolving entrepreneurs’ issues. Meanwhile, central member Nain Singh Mahar praised the hotel sector’s significant contribution to Nepal’s economy through tourism.
