Nepali Instructors Launch Thrilling Skydiving Experience in Pokhara

For the first time, skydiving operations in Nepal are being conducted entirely by Nepali trainers. With prior experience working in skydiving across various countries, a team of skilled Nepali youths has launched the adventure sport in collaboration with Simrik Air and In Sky Dive Company.

The skydiving program, scheduled from Friday until January 21, has introduced two packages: VIP and Deluxe, priced at NPR 115,000 and NPR 95,000, respectively. Foreign participants will be charged an additional NPR 5,000, according to Elish Thapa, operator and trainer at In Sky Dive Company.

For the activity, the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority has granted Simrik Air a 15-day permit. Helicopters will take off from Pokhara Airport, transporting participants to an altitude of 13,000 feet over Lauruk, Pokhara-23, where they will dive into the sky. Participants will land safely in the fields of Lauruk, providing an exhilarating experience amidst the stunning Himalayan scenery.

Previously, foreign trainers led skydiving operations in Nepal. This year, however, a completely Nepali team, including trainers Elish Thapa, Subash Thapa, Manish Hirachan, Ashish Thapa, and Nepal’s first female skydiver, Yasoda KC, will manage the program.

Elish Thapa noted that the company plans to offer regular skydiving services if there is sufficient demand from customers following the event. “This initiative not only showcases our expertise but also positions Nepal as an emerging hub for adventure tourism,” he added.

Skydiving enthusiasts, both domestic and international, can now experience this thrilling activity while contributing to the growth of Nepal’s adventure tourism sector.
