NTB Holds Interaction with Proposed Nepali Ambassadors to Promote Tourism

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) organized a productive interaction with the proposed Nepali ambassadors from various countries on Wednesday, aimed at fostering the international promotion of Nepal’s tourism. The key objective of the event was to discuss effective cooperation and coordination between embassies, the Board, and tourism businesses to enhance Nepal’s tourism sector.

During the interaction, the proposed ambassadors emphasized the potential for promoting Nepal’s tourism through collaboration between the Board and embassies. They highlighted the country’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and adventure tourism opportunities, expressing their commitment to actively promoting Nepal abroad. They stressed the need for coordinated efforts with the Board to ensure the effective promotion of Nepal as a premier tourist destination.

Dr. Ganesh Prasad Pandey, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, and Chairman of the Nepal Tourism Board, assured the ambassadors that promotional materials and coordination for international events would be provided to support Nepal’s tourism efforts.

Ram Prasad Sapkota (Kamala), Vice Chairman of the Board, suggested that positioning Nepal as an all-season destination would significantly increase tourist arrivals. He emphasized that the ambassadors’ support in this regard was crucial. Deepak Raj Joshi, the Executive Chief of the Nepal Tourism Board, also expressed the Board’s readiness to collaborate and support tourism initiatives.

The proposed ambassadors from various countries, including Dr. Shankar Sharma (India), Prof. Dr. Kapil Shrestha (South Africa), Chitra Lekha Yadav (Australia), Samnima Tuladhar (Denmark), Sewa Lamsal (Belgium and European Union), Netra Prasad Timilsena (Malaysia), Junga Bahadur Chauhan (Russia), Sunil Nepal (Spain), Purnabahadur Nepali (Sri Lanka), and Prakashmani Paudel (Portugal), all shared their commitment to using tourism as a tool for economic diplomacy. They assured that they would work diligently for Nepal’s interests and support the country’s tourism growth.

The event also saw participation from key tourism organizations, including the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Skål International, Nepal Rafting Agencies (NARA), Society of Travel and Tourism Operators Nepal (SOTTO), and Tourism Sisterhood Organization, among others.

This interaction marks a significant step in strengthening Nepal’s international tourism outreach, leveraging diplomatic ties for the long-term growth of Nepal’s tourism sector.
