The Tamankhola Rural Municipality has initiated the up-gradation of a 10-kilometer-long road connecting Bongadobhan to the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. The municipality has allocated a budget of Rs 14.55 million for the project, which aims to improve the road’s infrastructure and facilitate easier movement for commuters.
According to Jokalla Budha Magar, chair of the Tamankhola Rural Municipality, the up-gradation work will include road widening and the construction of drainage and culvert at the Bongkhani rivulet. The road, which was initially opened in 2075 BS, has been in need of improvement due to its narrow width.
Local residents, including Chulendra BK of Tamankhola-2, have expressed their enthusiasm for the project, stating that the up-gradation will make it easier for all commuters to travel. The initiative is particularly significant for Tamankhola, a remote rural municipality in Baglung, where many areas still lack road connectivity.
The up-gradation of the road is expected to enhance accessibility to the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve and surrounding areas, promoting tourism and economic development in the region.
