Kathmandu’s hospitality landscape is set for a significant transformation as the well-known Accor lifestyle brand TRIBE prepares to make its South Asian debut in Nepal. South Asia’s First TRIBE Hotel Project

Accor has officially confirmed that TRIBE Kathmandu Budhanilkantha will be the brand’s first property in South Asia, marking an important expansion for the globally recognized lifestyle hospitality label. Known for its contemporary design philosophy, functional comfort, and socially vibrant spaces, TRIBE is designed to cater to a new generation of travellers who prioritize experience, aesthetics, and affordability.

The hotel is scheduled to open in 2029 and will feature around 100 keys initially, later expanding as part of a phased development plan. The property will be developed under a management agreement between Accor and Sabrina Hotel Limited, led by Chairman Nirajan Thapa. Accor has described the project as part of its continued expansion strategy across South Asia, highlighting Kathmandu as an emerging destination for culturally immersive and experience-driven tourism.

Strategic Location in Budhanilkantha

Located in Budhanilkantha, the TRIBE Kathmandu hotel enjoys a unique advantage due to its proximity to some of Nepal’s most significant cultural and spiritual landmarks. These include the sacred Pashupatinath Temple and the iconic Boudhanath Stupa, both of which attract thousands of pilgrims and tourists each year.

Unlike the busy commercial districts of Kathmandu, Budhanilkantha offers a greener and more tranquil environment, making it increasingly attractive to international tourists seeking a balance between cultural exploration and peaceful retreat. The area is also witnessing growing demand from younger travellers and experience-focused visitors who prefer boutique and lifestyle hospitality concepts.
