The second regional art exhibition organized by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts has begun at the Tamun Buddhist Monastery in Belbari Municipality.
The Nepal Academy of Fine Arts started regional art displays in all seven provinces last year. The exhibition will continue until the 20th of Falgun. The Chief Minister of Province 1, Hikmat Kumar Karki, inaugurated the display in a special ceremony. After viewing the exhibition, Chief Minister Karki praised the artists’ creations and expressed the provincial government’s commitment to support such creative efforts.
The exhibition showcases paintings reflecting Nepal’s natural beauty and culture, digital art depicting social realities, and traditional sculptures as its main attractions. Sanjay Bantawa, coordinator of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts in Province 1, informed that 221 artworks from 186 artists from all 14 districts of Province 1 are displayed in the display.
On the occasion of the exhibition, artists Anuradh Singh Thapa from Biratnagar, Dilli Krishna Ale from Dhankuta, Pawan Rajwanshi from Jhapa, Kinthal Khawas from Belbari, and Krishan Bhakt Gajmer from Pathari-Shanishchare were especially honored for their contributions.
The exhibition program includes a workshop with national artists on the second day, an interaction on contemporary art, folk art, and indigenous arts on the third day, and a cultural and musical event on the fourth day.
The publicity coordinator of the event, Bikash Budhathoki, shared that the aim is to attract more than 15,000 visitors during the display. The first display of Province 1 last year was held at the Kriya and Nature Confluence, Itahari Matrix, in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City.
