Shyam Bahadur Pandey Honored with ‘PP Prasai Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award 2024’ Posthumously

Shyam Bahadur Pandey, a pioneering figure in Nepal’s tourism industry, has been posthumously awarded the prestigious ‘PP Prasai Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award 2024.’ The award was presented on Thursday by Education, Science, and Technology Minister Vidya Bhattarai.

Pandey’s son, Prabin Pandey, accepted the award on behalf of his late father at a ceremony organized by the PP Prasai Foundation. Shyam Bahadur Pandey, the former president of the Hotel Association Nepal and the visionary founder of Shangrila Hotel, was widely respected for his invaluable contributions to Nepal’s tourism sector. His leadership and efforts played a key role in promoting Nepal as a global tourist destination.
