The Society of Travel and Tour Operators Nepal (SOTTO-Nepal), in collaboration with the Travel Talents School of Airline Studies, is set to organize a three-day Advanced Global Distribution System (GDS) Training exclusively for its active members.
Scheduled to take place from August 9 to 11 (24–26 Shrawan), the training program reflects the organizations’ joint commitment to enhancing the professional capacity of travel operators, improving business sustainability, and promoting higher industry standards within Nepal’s tourism sector.
Training to Focus on Practical GDS Skills
The specialized training has been designed to provide participants with practical knowledge and updated technical expertise in the use of Global Distribution Systems (GDS), which are widely used by travel agencies and tour operators for airline reservations, ticketing, and travel management.
According to SOTTO-Nepal, the program aims to strengthen the operational efficiency of travel professionals by familiarizing them with the latest industry practices and reservation procedures.
Comprehensive Training Modules
Participants will receive training on several key areas essential to airline reservation and ticketing operations. The course modules include Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) functioning, Timatic solutions, ticket issuance, ticket void and refund procedures, fare rules, and ticket re-issuance. The curriculum has been designed to enhance participants’ technical competencies and help them efficiently manage airline booking systems and customer services.
Training Details and Registration
The training will be held at the Travel Talents School of Airline Studies, located in the Air India Building, Hattisar, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Participants are expected to have basic knowledge of GDS before enrolling in the advanced-level course.
SOTTO-Nepal has announced that the program will be limited to 11 participants to ensure effective learning and personalized instruction. Registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, and interested members have been encouraged to confirm their participation at the earliest.
