Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has strengthened its commitment to community welfare through its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, bringing together 200 volunteers to support 255 residents across three care homes in Selangor, Malaysia. The initiative, held on November 4, 2026, focused on improving care facilities, encouraging learning and creating meaningful connections with elderly residents and children.
Organised in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare Malaysia (JKM), the program reflects MAG’s efforts to extend its philosophy of Malaysian Hospitality beyond the passenger experience. Through employee volunteering, community improvements and educational activities, the group aimed to create a more welcoming and supportive environment for the residents.

200 Volunteers Support Three Community Care Homes
The annual CSR programme brought together 200 volunteers, including members of MAG’s senior management and employees, to support residents at three JKM care homes. These included Rumah Seri Kenangan Cheras, which accommodates 170 elderly residents, and Taman Sinar Harapan Ziyad Zolkefli Cheras and Rumah Kanak Kanak Mini Cheras, which together serve 85 children. The initiative focused on improving living spaces while providing opportunities for interaction and companionship.
MAG volunteers contributed their time and skills through various activities, including housekeeping, gardening, mural painting and recreational engagement with residents. These efforts were designed to create cleaner, more attractive communal areas while encouraging meaningful relationships between volunteers and the people living in the facilities. The program also provided employees with an opportunity to participate directly in community service.

Mini Library Promotes Learning and Reading Among Children
One of the key initiatives took place at Rumah Kanak Kanak Mini Cheras, where MAG developed a mini library to provide children with a dedicated space for reading and learning. An interesting feature of the project was the use of repurposed aircraft carpet in developing the library, reflecting an effort to give existing materials a new purpose. The space is intended to encourage children to explore books, develop their curiosity and engage in independent learning.
The initiative was further supported through donations of Going Places, the inflight magazine published by Malaysia Airlines. The publication introduces readers to destinations, travel experiences and different aspects of the wider world, offering children an opportunity to learn beyond their immediate surroundings. Through these contributions, MAG sought to support educational development while creating an environment that encourages reading and discovery.

Community Improvements Strengthen Care Facilities
The program also included wider beautification activities to improve the surroundings of the three care homes. Volunteers participated in mural painting to refresh communal spaces and make them more welcoming for residents. PELAKA, a Malaysian paint brand specializing in mural and craft applications, supported the initiative as its official paint supplier. The improvements formed part of MAG’s broader effort to contribute practical support to the facilities.
MAG also acknowledged the contribution of Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N), which donated 20 cartons of F&N SEASONS beverages for the program. These contributions from corporate partners helped support the activities and added to the collective effort to improve residents’ daily environment. The initiative demonstrated how cooperation between businesses and employees can contribute to community welfare through practical action.

MAG Reaffirms Its Commitment to Malaysian Hospitality
Speaking about the initiative, Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of MAG, said the programme reflected the group’s responsibility to contribute positively to society. He highlighted the participation of 200 employees and leaders as an expression of Malaysian Hospitality through service to local communities. He also emphasized that the partnership with JKM aimed to deliver more than physical improvements by providing companionship, shared learning and supportive environments for residents.

MAG’s CSR activities are guided by three main pillars: humanitarian support, environmental responsibility and education. Through its annual programme, the group continues to encourage employee participation in community initiatives while supporting the needs of vulnerable groups. By extending its service values beyond aviation operations, MAG aims to make a meaningful contribution to the communities connected to its business.
