A collaborative team comprising representatives from the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), Machhapuchhre Municipality/Ward, the Conservation Area Management Committee, and the Greater Machhapuchhre Trail Management Committee conducted a field visit to the Khumai Trek to ensure its sustainable development. The team focused on key issues, including the proper management of hotels on public land, prevention of further encroachment, maintenance of a trash-free trekking route, and enforcement of noise regulations by prohibiting loud music along the trail.

In addition, they discussed sustainable practices such as alternatives to firewood, prohibition of tree cutting in the forest, and measures to control poaching of birds and wildlife. By engaging with 25 hotel owners and organizing three meetings, the team emphasized the importance of balancing tourism growth with environmental conservation, ensuring that Khumai Trek remains a pristine and eco-friendly destination.
