Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Gandaki completed a four-day research and exploration program from December 2 to December 5, 2024, focusing on developing a new trekking route connecting Parbat, Myagdi, and Kaski districts. The program was organized with the support of the Gandaki Province Ministry of Industry and Tourism, promoted by the Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Province Office, and conducted in coordination with the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) and relevant local governments.

The research explored the Nayapul–Tangale–Bhumarkot–Phalate–Dandakmere–Thamakodhil–Mate–Jaljala–Mohare Danda–Taprang–Bantahti trekking route, covering wards 1, 2, and 3 of Modi Rural Municipality in Parbat. The event was graced by the presence of former National Assembly Chairman Honorable Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and Gandaki Province Minister of Industry and Tourism Honorable Mitralal Basyal.

The program, led by TAAN Gandaki’s First Vice President Tirtharaj Subedi, saw active participation from 54 individuals, including local government officials such as Tek Bahadur Gurung (Ward Chair of Ward 1), Bel Bahadur Karki (Ward Chair of Ward 2), and Devendra Bahadur Chhetri (Ward Chair of Ward 3). Representatives from the Parbat-Bhumarkot-Ghorepani Tourism Development Committee, local tourism experts, journalists, and community members also took part.

Prominent participants included Krishna Prasad Acharya, President of TAAN Gandaki; Bhupendra Kumar Lama, General Secretary; Dipak Prasad Sapkota, Treasurer; and Executive Members Ajay Adhikari and Bhupendra Gautam. The research program aims to promote sustainable tourism by identifying and developing new trekking destinations, boosting local economies, and preserving cultural heritage in the Gandaki region.
