Three Trekkers Reported Missing While Returning from Mardi Himal Trek

Three young trekkers have been reported missing while returning from the Mardi Himal trekking route in Kaski district, prompting an intensive search operation by Nepal Police. The missing individuals have been identified as Ajit GC, Yukesh Gurung, and Dipesh Gurung, all residents of Pokhara Metropolitan City–14.

According to police, the three are suspected to have lost their way in the forest near Badaldanda of Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality–9 while descending from the Mardi Himal High Camp. Authorities believe they may have become stranded after deviating from the designated trail.

Mobile Phones Switched Off

Police said the missing youth’ mobile phones have been switched off, making it difficult to establish contact or determine their exact location. Jeevan Baral, Police Assistant Sub-Inspector at the temporary police post in Bhedabari, Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality–6, said search teams were deployed early Wednesday morning after receiving information that the trekkers had gone missing. “We received information that the three trekkers may have lost their way in the forest while returning from Mardi Himal High Camp. Search operations have been underway since early this morning,” Baral said.

Authorities Continue Search Efforts

Police are continuing search and rescue operations in the dense forest area surrounding Badaldanda. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the missing trekkers or their whereabouts to immediately contact the nearest police office. Search efforts are ongoing, with police hopeful that the trekkers will be located safely.
