A male tiger captured from Tedhuwa village in Belauri Municipality-2, Kanchanpur, is set to be released into the core area of Shuklaphanta National Park.

The adult tiger was discovered in a wheat field on Sunday, prompting immediate action from local authorities. A team of forest technicians, assisted by two elephants and a drone camera, successfully darted the big cat and safely transferred it to the Division Forest Office, Kanchanpur.

According to Ram Bichari Thakur, Chief of the District Forest Office, the tiger is in good health with no signs of injury. “The full-grown tiger is doing well, and we are preparing to release it in a secure area of the national park,” he stated.

The rescue and planned relocation align with conservation efforts to ensure the safety of both wildlife and local communities. Shuklaphanta National Park, known for its rich biodiversity, provides a suitable habitat for the tiger, reducing the chances of human-wildlife conflict.

This incident highlights the increasing interactions between wildlife and human settlements, emphasizing the need for continued conservation efforts and habitat protection.
