Tourism Minister Pandey Honored Globally in Berlin

Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has been honored with the ‘Tourism Minister of the Year Award’ in Berlin, Germany.

The Nepal Tourism Board announced through a press release that Minister Pandey was awarded the best tourism minister from Himalayan countries during the ‘World Tourism and Aviation Summit–2025’ organized by the Pacific Asia Travel Writers Association (PATWA) in Berlin. Since 1999, this award has been presented annually at the ITB Berlin ceremony to ministers who have made significant contributions to the sector.

Travel entrepreneurs participating in Berlin stated that this award, historically significant for Nepal, reflects international recognition of the country’s exploration policies and strategies.

Upon receiving the award, Minister Pandey expressed that this achievement should be regarded as a great honor for Nepal’s exploration sector rather than an individual accomplishment. He remarked, “It is a matter of happiness to receive this prestigious award from PATWA.

This award is not just mine but a recognition of Nepal’s exploration sector and all the stakeholders tirelessly working to establish it on the global stage. Nepal’s exploration has always progressed through innovation, community participation, and resilience. This award inspires us to work towards more sustainable and inclusive exploration.”

Minister Pandey also highlighted the significant role of Artificial Intelligence in the exploration sector and stated that the government aims to balance technological advancements with community-driven exploration while preserving Nepal’s cultural authenticity.
