Ramji Nepali, renowned for his unique ability to sing the national anthems of 160 countries, has set off on an ambitious tour of India, carrying a message of “world harmony, cultural tourism, and goodwill.” His journey, which began from Pokhara on Monday, will take him to various cities across India, including Dehradun and Delhi, over the next three months.
Ramji’s mission is to promote global peace and fraternity while showcasing Nepal’s rich cultural tourism. During his tour, he will proudly carry Nepal’s national flag and perform national anthems from numerous countries, a talent that has made him a well-known figure among tourists in Pokhara.
Last year, Ramji was a regular sight along the banks of Phewa Lake, where he entertained tourists by singing the national anthems of their respective countries. His unique performances left tourists amazed, as they were often surprised to hear a Nepali singing their nation’s anthem with such precision. This realization led Ramji to expand his efforts and bring his message of harmony to a wider audience.
While his outreach activities were limited during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ramji chose Pokhara as his base to reconnect Nepal with the global tourism market. To date, he has visited 11 countries and embarked on his first international tour after the pandemic two years ago, dedicating three months to performing national anthems worldwide.
Through his current tour of India, Ramji also hopes to gather financial support to fuel his vision of a global tour, spreading his message of unity, peace, and cultural understanding through music.
