The maintenance hours at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu will be reduced by two hours starting this Saturday.
With the reduction in maintenance hours, the airport’s operational hours will be extended. Since last Kartik (October), the airport has been operating for only 14 hours a day, but from Saturday, it will operate for 16 hours, according to the airport office.
Previously, flights were halted at 10 PM, but starting Saturday, the airport will close at 11 PM and reopen at 7 AM, informed Dependra Shrestha, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority’s Air Traffic Capacity Enhancement Project.
The project is working on expanding the airport’s southwest parallel taxiway, the northern international apron, and the eastern hangar apron.
