The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted partly cloudy weather conditions in Koshi Province and the hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces for today. In contrast, the rest of the country is expected to experience mainly fair weather.
According to the Division, light rain may occur at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi Province, influenced by the partial effect of westerly winds currently impacting the country.
The arrival of a westerly low-pressure system, commonly referred to as the Western Disturbance, is anticipated to bring partial to generally cloudy weather across many regions of Nepal starting Sunday evening. This system is likely to cause light to moderate snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Sudurpaschim and Karnali Provinces. Similar snowfall is expected in some areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi Provinces from Sunday evening through Monday.
Furthermore, the system may result in light to moderate rain in certain parts of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Lumbini Provinces. Light rain is also possible in isolated locations within Gandaki Province and in one or two places in the hilly regions of Bagmati and Koshi Provinces.
With these weather changes, temperatures are expected to drop, leading to an increase in cold conditions across the country. Residents are advised to prepare for the colder weather and stay updated with the latest forecasts.
